How Survivor Pools Work

Survivor is an elimination format where one bad pick can end your run, and reuse rules make each future choice more difficult.

Basic concept

Each scoring period, participants make one eligible selection. If the selection meets the contest's survival condition, the participant advances.

Reuse rules

Many Survivor formats prevent participants from using the same team, driver or eligible selection more than once during the contest.

Lock times

Picks lock at the contest-defined deadline. Missing the deadline may result in elimination depending on the published rules.

If multiple players survive to the end

If more than one participant remains at the end of the contest, all remaining participants tie for first. There is no automatic tiebreaker.

If everyone is eliminated together

In the Free version, the contest ends. In a paid version, the commissioner may choose an approved continuation option such as another week with the just-eliminated group, a configured tiebreaker, or restarting the contest.
