MLB Start-Once

Build a new lineup each scoring period, but each MLB player can be used only once for the entire contest.

Eligibility

MLB Start-Once requires the applicable Pools entitlement and is 18+.

Core rule

Each entrant may use each eligible MLB player only once during the contest. Once used, that player is permanently unavailable to that entrant.

Scoring period

Default scoring periods run Monday-Sunday and use the standard MLB fantasy-points engine unless a supported setting changes scoring.

Default lineup

C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF x3, UTIL x2, SP x2, RP x2 and P x2. No bench is required by default.

Ownership

Player ownership is nonexclusive. The same MLB player may be selected by multiple fantasy teams in the same scoring period.

Locks and usage

Each selected player locks at the scheduled start of that player's MLB game. The platform clearly marks previously used players as unavailable to that entrant.

Pitchers and dual-role players

A pitcher used in any pitching slot is considered used for the contest. A dual-role player may be used only once total, not once as a hitter and again as a pitcher.

Standings

Default standings use cumulative Season Points across all scoring periods.

Transactions

There is no roster ownership, waiver wire or trade system in the default Start-Once format.
