You draft or build a roster, then the platform determines the highest-scoring valid lineup after the scoring period is complete.
No weekly start-sit decisions
Unlike traditional fantasy, managers usually do not need to move players in and out of starting slots each week.

Because lineup optimization is automatic, draft depth and roster balance matter more. Extra depth at volatile positions can create more scoring upside.
Transactions depend on the format
Some Best Ball leagues are draft-and-hold with no waivers or trades. Others may allow transactions if the sport and commissioner settings support them.
Best Ball vs redraft
Redraft rewards weekly lineup decisions. Best Ball shifts more of the strategy toward drafting and roster construction.
